Thermal Imaging Night Driving System

The new, Tavor night time driving system , has been designed to provide enhanced driver vision in total darkness, rain, fog, smoke, dust, etc. This allows vehicles to move in  situations I conditions where others cannot; ensuring the required equipment and personal  can reach their objectives safely.

The Tavor night driving system is based on an uncooled thermal imaging kit utilising the Opgal Eye R25 engine. The R25 is a miniature high-performance microbolometric thermal imaging engine, based on a 384×288 pixels 25micron  ASi microbolometer detector providing full frame rate, 50/60Hz of video. The engine features powerful proprietary algorithms, fully well-tried and proven to be effective in poor visibility conditions. It providesa selection of outputs   (CCIR or RS170) and digital LVDS or USB2 (optional) video outputs. The EYE-R25 is tuned to long-wave infrared with sensitivity of less than 0.050°C with a F1 lens. This is packed into a ruggedized housing and integrated with hard carbon coated optics. The ruggedized LCD display, connecting cable, camera-mounting kit are all packed into a rugged carrying case . The whole system is MIL-STD-810E approved. The system has an anti-blooming mechanism to prevent dazzle and a high resolution LCD. Electronic zoom (x2 & x4) combined with a wide viewing area of 64° horizontal further enhancing the  drivers vision.  The module can easily be integrated into military vehicle designs. A commercial variation is available based on the Meron camera. This is a light weight small thermal camera again using the R25 engine. Video data can be taken from the camera and interfaced into a suitable display

Simple to install and use the Tavor offers a quick solution to difficult driving conditions i for all land vehicles when speed and time is critical

Many applications that can use this Night Driving System

Emergency vehicles.

Ambulances, Fire Trucks and Police cars all need to be able to get to the problem as fast and safely as possible. Poor environmental weather conditions can hinder this objective which when thermal imaging can help in obtaining a effective and safe journey

Commercial vehicles have to deliver whatever the weather, fog, rain, haze, etc. causes great strain on the drivers concentration and can lead to accidents. The use of thermal imaging can assist the driver by reducing the stress for trying to see what is ahead and improving the safety to the drive and other vehicles on the road.

Ships and yachts

Once more thermal imaging can be of great assistance in entering and leaving a harbor in poor visibility conditions. They can also help in spotting object in the water allowing evasion tactics to be taken and safe guard the vessel.

Railways

Thermal imagers deployed on train engines assist in spotting objects on or near  the line and giving the driver more time to take the appropriate actions.

  1. Steve from telescopes says:

This is very interesting, and there would be a lot more applications than the important ones given here. I can see a slight problem in that poor visibility is often gotten around by using fog lights, extra bright lighting etc to help see through. Many of these are themselves major sources of infrared, which would dazzle the thermal imaging equipment? I shall visit the link to find out more – thanks.

  2. Hope that, night driving sessions would be further enthralling without much flummoxes, discomforts with this thermal imaging kit as it withstands all sorts of environmental conditions such as fog, rain, haze providing clear visions. Thanks for your great views!
